Our local communities are based in Norway, but we cover the nordics as a magazine.
We started as Oslo Filmmakers. One person, one Instagram account, filmmaker hangouts in Oslo. It grew. Then Bergen joined. Then Discord. Now this.
Nordic Filmmakers brings together filmmaker spotlights, voices from the community, curated film picks, interviews with emerging and established voices, and conversations about the craft and the industry. All in a tone that's conversational, honest, and close to the people we write about and for.
We're not a typical publication. We're not competing with the established press. We're the layer that was missing: community voices meeting editorial context.

We believe the best films come from people who feel connected, not isolated.
We believe the film industry gets stronger every time someone new decides to stop waiting for permission and start creating.
We believe a first-time filmmaker and a seasoned one should be able to meet on equal ground, and that a platform should make that possible.
We believe in being local first. Oslo and Bergen are our roots. But we think internationally, and we'll grow as the community grows.

A gatekeeper. The whole point is to open doors, not close them.
