Anne Sofie Eriksen, Editor

As a part of the Oslo Filmmakers Spotlight series, we want to highlighting voices from the community.

A short conversation

with a new voice

We had a chat with Editor, Anne Sofie Eriksen. She recently had her short film Princeska selected for the 2026 British Independent Film Festival and screened at the Short Film Market in Clermont-Ferrand. Currently finishing her bachelor’s in editing in Warsaw.

Who are you, and what do you do?

Hi! My name is Anne Sofie Eriksen, and I’m an editor. Born and raised in Norway, I’m currently living in Warsaw, Poland, where I’m finishing my bachelor’s degree in editing.

What is the latest project you worked on that you are proud of?

Recently, a short film I edited, Princeska, was selected for the Official Short Film Selection at the 2026 British Independent Film Festival. It was also screened at the Short Film Market in Clermont-Ferrand.

If your work could give the audience one feeling, what would it be?

I’m always trying to move people. One of my favorite projects so far is a short documentary I made independently about my parents. As an editor, that process was especially exciting because I got to build an emotional world on my timeline.

My most important contribution to any project is using editing to transform raw material into something emotionally resonant and deeply felt.

Who in Oslo should get the spotlight next, and why?

This is a difficult question, as I have not lived in Norway for a while and have not built a large network there recently. However, someone I have been following for some time is Sandra Macadam, a DP, photographer, director, and editor. Her work is very inspiring.

When I am shooting, I feel my methodology is in many ways the same as when I am gaffing: finding the right balance.

The most recent project I have written and directed is The Remaining Ones, which won awards at the Beverly Hills Film Festival and the Nordic International Film Festival in the United States. It is a project I’m particularly proud of.

I started out doing theatre and commercials, and in 2019 I was cast as one of the leads in the Amanda-nominated feature film Den siste våren (Sister What Grows Where Land is Sick) by Fransicka Eliassen.
